Carbon Neutral

Here at Premier Netting (True Traders Ltd) we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint, which is why we are proud to announce that we have partnered with Carbon Neutral Britain to measure and offset our carbon footprint, to become a Certified Carbon Neutral Business.

Increased Carbon Dioxide & Greenhouse Gases (CO²e) are the biggest cause of Global Warming on our Planet. Everything you do - what you buy, eat and where you go, adds to the amount of CO²e produced, adding to Global Warming. By Offsetting our Carbon Footprint - with projects to remove CO²e from the atmosphere, we are balancing out our emissions.

Carbon Neutral Britain funds projects in Britain and around the world to reduce the amount of CO²e in the earths atmosphere. All of their carbon offsetting projects are certified to the highest standards through the UK and EU Emissions Trading Standard (EU + UK ETS), Gold Standard Voluntary Emission Reductions (VER) and the United Nations Certified Emission Reductions (CER) programs.

The projects are selected based on their direct and indirect impact around the world and to fund projects in the developing world that help provide education, employment, clean water, energy and a positive impact on the local wildlife and ecology.

More information and details of some of the projects can be found at Carbon Neutral Britain.

Marston Vale Forest Creation - England

The Forest of Marston Vale is a Community Forest and a Charity, planting trees and using woodlands to make life better for the people and wildlife in the 61 square mile area of the Marston Vale, between Bedford and Milton Keynes.

The Charity has planted over 2 million trees to transform the landscape and improve the prospects of the Marston Vale, because trees make life better – for people, for wildlife and for the planet. They help to cool and clean our air, lock up carbon, reduce flooding, provide sustainable raw materials, and are our best hope in combating the climate crisis. The Charity’s ultimate goal is 30% tree cover across the Forest and that means planting another 5 million trees.

Preserving Amazon Rainforest - Brazil

In this Brazilian Amazon REDD+ project, biodiversity plays a vital role. The Cikel area is part of the Amazon, the largest remaining rainforest on our planet. The Amazon is known for its amazing biodiversity; it contains 15% of all species. The Cikel area is home to some endangered species, such as the rare Ka’apori monkey, that rely on the forest for their survival.

The CIKEL Project is located in Para State, Brazil, where 63% of the Amazon Rainforest has already been lost. By using sustainable logging practices certified by the Forest Stewardship Council®, CIKEL will continue to avoid the deforestation of 27.4 thousand hectares of rainforest which would have been deforested had traditional logging practices been used. The company is also intensifying and improving its practices to support the sustainable social development, maintaining and improving the biodiversity monitoring at the RCC in the framework of FSC certification and Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD) activities.

Yorkshire Woodland Management - England

Tree planting is perhaps what the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust is most well known for. Since starting in 1996 the trust has helped to plant around 1.5 million broadleaf trees, creating native woodlands of all shapes and sizes throughout the Yorkshire Dales and Nidderdale.

In this project, one of the major objectives of the Dales Woodland Strategy is the creation of new native woodland in the Yorkshire Dales. Currently, only 2.5% of the National Park is covered with native broadleaf trees compared with the national average of 8%. The long term aim is to almost double the amount of broadleaf cover in the National Park to 5000 hectares.
